Founded in 2015, the Institute for Medicaid Innovation is a national 501c(3) nonprofit, nonpartisan research, policy, and community power building organization focused on providing innovative solutions that address important clinical, research, and policy issues in Medicaid through multi-stakeholder engagement, research, data analysis, education, quality improvement initiatives, and dissemination and implementation activities.
Our mission is to improve the lives of Medicaid enrollees through the development, implementation, and diffusion of innovative and evidence-based models of care that promote quality, value, equity and the engagement of individuals, families, and communities.
Our vision is to provide independent, unbiased, nonpartisan information and analysis that informs Medicaid policy and improves the health of the nation.
Diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) has been part of our core since we were founded, beginning with our mission, vision, and board composition. DEIJ is embedded in the core fabric of the organization at all levels and informs our work, including our funder relationships and partnerships. We believe, through our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, we can be a catalyst for positive change. We commit to constant improvement in this area through learning, listening, and incorporating best practices. We encourage, support, and celebrate the diverse voices of employees, partners, and funders. The ideas they share fuel our innovation and connect us to the needs of the Medicaid community we serve. When social justice efforts are led by and prioritize the experiences of those most impacted, everyone benefits.
