Salma Mohamed, MPA

Salma Mohamed is a doula and maternal health advocate. She currently serves as the manager of perinatal and maternal health policy at MassHealth. In this capacity, Salma oversees MassHealth’s Doula Services Program, ensuring its successful implementation through intentional engagement with the doula community and other key stakeholders.
Salma has also been involved in advocacy efforts, including her prior contributions to the MA Doula Coalition and New York Coalition for Doula Access, where she advocated for increased access to doula care and the integration of doulas into health care teams while preserving the autonomy and self-determination of doulas and birthing people. She is passionate about leveraging her research skills, reproductive health knowledge, and passion for community-centered care to achieve reproductive justice for all.
She holds a BA in public health and policy and an MPA with a concentration in maternal and child health from Brown University.
