IMI Releases Annual Landmark Medicaid MCO Survey
2024 Marks Seven Years of Data Collection On Emerging Issues
The Institute for Medicaid Innovation (IMI) today released its annual, landmark Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) survey. This year marks seven years of critical data collection that will ultimately provide valuable insights into how Medicaid health plans experience and react to current population health issues.
Supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the survey represents the combined effort of multiple volunteers and Medicaid thought leaders from across the field. The 12 sections of the survey contain questions carefully identified through workgroups and committees to elicit responses that will ultimately support the work of policymakers, researchers, and health plan representatives.
This year, the survey features an in-depth look at how health plans are incorporating sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI), transgender health care, gender-affirming services, and other relevant issues into their coverage.
The IMI team is grateful for the Medicaid health plan representatives, serving on the Institute’s survey national advisory committee, who have devoted their time and effort to this important project.
Results, which will be featured in a series of fact sheets and reviewed by a national panel of experts via webcast, will be issued later this year.
